1. I can probably introduce an NVSE event, which mods like yours would emit and I would rebuild the index.
2. I noticed people freak out when see a lot of buttons, so I try to keep it tight.

I circumvented point one by having them pre-loaded in, but perhaps that could be useful for others? I'm not well versed in all the script extender stuff. Understood on point two, appreciate the response.
