Enderal: Forgotten Stories is a total conversion for TES V: Skyrim: a game modification that is set in its own world with its own landscape, lore and story. It offers an immersive open world, all for the player to explore, overhauled skill systems and gameplay mechanics and a dark, psychological storyline with believable characters.
Enderal is free and can be played by anyone owning a legal copy of TES V: Skyrim Special Edition. It was developed non-commercially by SureAI, the team behind the renowned Oblivion mod Nehrim: At Fate’s Edge (and various other projects), and later independently converted and maintained on the Skyrim SE engine by Eddoursul with help from other community members, most notably gavrant and overdev. - Two “crafting classes” that utilize alchemy and enchanting for combat – use potions to shapeshift into a werewolf as the Lycantrope, use enchanting to craft spirit companions as the Phasmalist.

- Twelve new sidequests and two non-linear guild questlines: Work your way up the Golden Sickle, Enderal’s merchants guild and infiltrate the ranks of the Rhalâta, the enigmatic cult ruling the Undercity.

How to install
Enderal is total conversion mod, which can be installed in many different ways (basically, you need to replace Skyrim files and enable Enderal's plugins). We provide support for the following methods:
a) Get it on GOG - currently it is up to date.
b) Steam was unmaintained since 2022 and fell behind. The pending update is available for public testing in the 'enderal_2.1.4' branch. The web installer available earlier is being deprecated in favor of the store releases.
c) Install it by yourself with Mod Organizer 2.
If you still have normal Skyrim SE starting, your Windows Defender or some other antivirus must have prevented MO2 from running properly. Whitelist MO2’s directory.
To update Enderal SE, delete previous version from your MO2 completely and install a new version.
Install SkyUI to manage Enderal options.

- Install SKSE.
- Create a new Skyrim SE instance in your MO2 (even if you already have one). Your Skyrim installation must be clean, you should not have any mods installed/deployed to the game directory.
- Download Enderal SE and install using the "Install Mod..." button on the toolbar.
- Enderal is incompatible with Creation Club mods. The base package already contains empty placeholders, overriding 4 free Creation Club add-ons. If you have the paid Anniversary Creation Club pack, you can disable it by moving it to a new mod in your Skyrim instance.
- Configure the game as usual with Skyrim Launcher.
- Run Enderal SE through MO2 with skse64_loader.exe.

- Fix Note icon for SkyUI brings back note icons in the inventory list.
- Better Jumping SE allows to jump while sprinting.

Modding
Always assume a Skyrim mod is incompatible until proven otherwise.
Enderal LE mods must be converted before using. At this point, all scripted mods for Enderal LE are considered out of date (incompatible).
LOOT does not work with Enderal due to unmaintained masterlist. Effectively, it randomizes your modlist.
Enderal SE works by overriding Skyrim.esm and other core Skyrim files. Vortex replaces and renames them directly in game files, rendering Skyrim unplayable until Enderal is disabled. Use Vortex if you understand consequences, but we cannot provide support to users who don't. We strongly recommend using Mod Organizer 2 to run Enderal SE.
